Aquins are an intelligent and sapient variant of the slime mold "Name Needed" that mimics other creatures by examining and copying their genetic structure. Aquins are commonly known for their diverse appearance in civilized groups.

Aquins form when the precursor slime mold harvests genetic material from a sapient creature. This material is usually dead, such as dead skin or biological waste. The slime mold proceeds to find a source of water, which will slowly gestate over a course of months until enough mass and energy has been acquired to biologically replicate the functions of the species. Aquins are noticable despite their mimicing due to their unique blue and translucent hue.
