Evolutionary:Privacy policy

More actions
This page explains what information Evolutionary collects and why. The short version: no ads, no tracking cookies, nothing sold or shared, and if you're only reading, the wiki itself knows very little about you.
If you're reading
- Server logs. Like almost every website, the server records basic information about each request — your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. These logs are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are automatically discarded as they rotate out (they are not kept long-term).
- Cloudflare. Traffic to the wiki passes through Cloudflare, which protects the site from attacks and provides its HTTPS connection. Cloudflare processes your IP address and may set security cookies to tell real visitors from bots. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Visitor statistics. The wiki uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure loading speed. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across sites, and only shows the site owner aggregate numbers such as total visits per page.
- Cookies. The wiki doesn't set tracking cookies. If you change display preferences such as light or dark theme, text size or page width, they're remembered in a small cookie that contains only those settings.
- Nothing else. Apart from Cloudflare, there are no advertisements, other analytics services, social-media buttons or embedded content from other sites.
If you have an account
Accounts are only given to the wiki's writers.
- The wiki stores your username, a securely hashed password and your preferences. Email is not used.
- Logging in sets a session cookie so the wiki remembers you're logged in; it is removed when you log out or it expires.
- Edits are public. Every edit is shown in the page history with your username and the time. The IP address an edit was made from is stored with it for the wiki's administrators, and is automatically deleted after 90 days.
Information is never sold or shared, not even when requested by law. You are entitled to your privacy.
